From 14th December 2007 all properties placed on the market for sale in England & Wales will require a Home Information Pack, including Energy Performance Certificates. Stamford Energy Assessors are fully qualified and ready to produce Energy Performance Certificates.
Until the 1st January 2009 properties can be marketed as soon as a pack is commissioned and as a temporary measure Energy Performance Certificates can be up to 12 months old when a property is put up for sale.
This is a Government driven initiative as part of its action to combat carbon emmisions from homes and to provide home buyers and sellers with more information regarding the energy efficiency of a property and forms part of the Home Information Pack (HIP).
It is planned that all properties being sold, let or constructed will require EPC's by 2009.
Once the assessment has taken place an EPC will be issued electronically and a copy forwarded to the Government Department for Communities and Local Government. The EPC will give advice on low cost measures which could help the energy efficiency of a home. Small changes such as changing to energy efficient lightbulbs can, over time, make a big difference.
The EPC will detail building dimensions, construction, levels of insulation, heating and water systems and give an energy efficiency rating similar to those found on modern electrical appliances. It will also give advice on further improvements that can be made and costs involved.
Prices
As you would expect prices for the production of Energy Performance Certificate are based on the size of the property - the bigger it is the longer it takes - our prices start from £55 and are very competative.
